Synopsis
Ron's Emporium is based on childhood objects and memories. Annie used old family photographs which revealed personal objects from her past, she then re-photographed them placing them next to the original images. The objects were placed in a white space to emphasize there nostalgic status.
The photographs are presented in a book entitled Ron's Emporium, the name of her parents antiques business they ran when she was a child. The Emporium was adjoined to the family home, a Victorian bungalow shown on the final page of the book. Ron's Emporium shut its doors for the last time in October 2004 moving onto a new house.
Recently returning to the bungalow she found it been knocked down and replaced by eight new houses. This project revisits the memories tied to a place that no longer remains.
